UMASS LX TO LDI

LDI (Live Design International) conference is one of the most important professional conferences in the theater design field. LDI is a resource for lighting, sound, staging, and projections: all components that are heavily involved in our career path and education.

At the Conference, attendees get a chance to take workshops in cutting-edge technology, speak with mentors in the field, and make valuable networking connections.

In this competitive field, students need every advantage they can get. We are five UMass Theater students, and we are raising money so that we can attend this year’s LDI conference in in Las Vegas, NV on November 13th-19th.

Our attendance and participation in the LDI conference will allow us to experience first-hand what we still need to learn; where our strengths and weaknesses lie; and how we can continue building upon skills of personal marketing and professionalism. LDI offers professional training courses in programming, design techniques, planning, and projection practices; all areas that are evolving and necessary to succeed as a professional. We will also have many opportunities to network with professionals in the design fields, and to receive portfolio and design reviews. We hope that you will be able to support our attendance to LDI and allow our artistic growth to continue.
