UMass Amherst Libraries

A Gift to the Libraries Helps Every Student!

The University Libraries at UMass Amherst – the largest publicly-supported research library in New England –  engages with students and faculty in support of teaching, learning, and research. Serving the needs of an active university like UMass Amherst requires the Libraries to be creative, flexible, and proactive, and your generosity helps provide sustainable funding for critical Library needs. Philanthropic giving directly supports student success and engagement, reduces barriers to information, and makes possible programming and research that advances efforts in support of social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

Our current top fundraising priorities include

  • The Dean’s Excellence Fund. To address new opportunities and initiatives as they arise including underwriting critical projects, focus on programs that enhance student success and advance social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and make capital improvements to facilitate learning and knowledge production.
  • The Robert S. Cox Special Collections Fund: Support projects and initiatives vital to Special Collections & University Archives.
  • The Science & Engineering Library: Help upgrade and renew the Science & Engineering Library in Lederle Lowrise, that serves half the academic disciplines on campus.

We thank YOU—because of your generosity, every student at UMass Amherst has a great Library!
