Alpha Phi Omega MinuteFund 2017

Alpha Phi Omega is a National Co-ed Community Service Fraternity. It was established in 1925 and the Kappa Omicron chapter at UMass Amherst was established in 1952. APO's motto is, "Be a leader, be a friend, be of service". Today Kappa Omicron has about 50 active members. Each member is required to complete 20 hours of community service per semester and attend regular meetings and fellowships to bond with the brotherhood. We are a family; a home away from home. APO will accept any student into the brotherhood that has completed the pledging requirements. We keep our semester dues very low so anyone can join. Because of this, brothers must pay out of pocket for gas money to and from projects, for the banquet at the end of each semester, and for any event that costs money. The chapter needs money to pay for supplies for our office, for service projects like Jared's Box, Relay for Life, and Merit Badge University, for fellowship events and supplies, and for attending sectional, regional, and national conventions, service opportunities, and leadership workshops.

$10

Gas Money

This money would be used to pay for gas to get our brothers to and from projects like the Boston Marathon! Some service projects are far away from the University and although we get some volunteers to drive, we would like to repay those volunteers

$20

Supplies

With $20 you can help pay for office supplies and supplies for outdoor projects. This includes gloves and goggles for projects that require hard labor.

$30

Service

With $30 the chapter would be able to purchase items for service projects such as Jared's Boxes.

$40

Fellowship

With this money, the chapter can help fund a fellowship! In the past, we have tie-dyed, knitted, and painted together! All these require supplies!

$50

National Convention

We send a couple brothers to National Convention every year and this money would help pay for the registration fee and a place to stay

$100

Banquet

$100 is enough to send at least 3 brothers to banquet for free! Banquet is a time where the entire brotherhood dresses up, goes to a nice hall, and has a nice buffet together while celebrating specific individuals that have done a lot for the community and the chapter. We want all brothers to be able to attend and would hate for someone to not attend due to money constraints.
