“Study Abroad experiences changed my outlook on the world, gave me the opportunity to look within myself and challenge myself in ways I never had.” -Candra Pepper `21
Shared themes emerge as International Scholars Program (ISP) participants reflect on their time living and learning abroad. Like Candra, many say that their time abroad changed their outlook on the world. The experience helped them develop an even greater appreciation for cultures different from their own, bond with people from around the globe, independently navigate foreign places, feel inspired by educational opportunities, and grow as global scholars. Many had dreamed of the opportunity to study abroad long before they were able to do so, and everyone put great effort into planning for their trip.
You can help open the door for a current ISP student who wishes to study abroad by making a gift to the Lang Global Scholars Award fund. This award honors former Commonwealth Honors College International Scholars Program director, Timothy Lang, and was established by caring alumni and friends. Thanks to a donor dedicated to helping students achieve their study abroad goals, your gift will make double the impact! Every donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $3,000, and when thirty gifts have been made an additional $1,000 gift will be unlocked.
Your generosity to this fund helps make study abroad a reality for aspiring global scholars to live their dreams!
