Alumni, Friends and Families:

I hope everyone is enjoying some summer and has maintained your mental and physical health.  The University of Massachusetts Athletics Department launched its ‘Flagship Forward’ fundraising campaign this week: August 3 – August 7 (ends at 5 pm).  

We hope you can get involved at this time to help support the Laxbacker Foundation Account, which will helps fund all of the extras for the team each year.  In the past, extras include sponsoring the golf outing, Alumni BBQ, team travel, team meals, certain equipment needs, as well as ongoing projects i.e., locker room space, Garber Field enhancements.  Throughout the years, we have worked hard to build a surplus in the Laxbacker Foundation Account.  As we head into the 2020-21 season, we find ourselves having to rely on nearly $75,000 of that surplus to support our operating expenses this year due to COVID-19 related cuts of $5M to the department’s total budget. All funds generated from the ‘Flagship Forward’ campaign will support our operating budget and rebuild our surplus. 

Again, we appreciate all of what you do each year, to help raise annual dollars, as well as those who have pledged, in the past for the Bleacher Project, the Turf Replacement Project, most recently the Scoreboard Project, and other capital projects!
