Your Umass Women's Ice Hockey team is headed to Dallas, Texas to compete in the ACHA Division 1 National tournament March 24-29!

In recent years many teams within the New England region have dropped down to the division 2 level of ACHA leaving us with only two teams within 8 hours, URI and Penn State, to compete with. Our expenses to compete at the division 1 level have increased tremendously to pay for hotels, buses, and flights among other expenses to be able to stay in this competitive division where we belong. This year alone we traveled to Michigan, St. Louis, and Virginia in order to compete against seven different opponents (as the ACHA mandates a certain number of games at the division 1 level). This greatly impacts us as trips are costly and the category of where most of our fundraised money goes.  

Our team is extremely excited to be able to travel to Dallas, Texas as the 5th ranked seed in the country. However, based off of our calculations this will be at least a $25,000 business trip. Due to our extensive travels this year our budget is currently limited approaching this costly endeavor. The team has put in a tremendous effort since September to be where we are today and we appreciate any and all donations that can be made to allow us to only focus on hockey for the trip.
