Thank You

May 05, 2016

Hello everyone,

My name is Andrew Bachman and I am the Director of External Affairs for the club as well as the person in charge of this campaign. I want to thank everyone who donated to this campaign on behalf of our team. Because of your support we were able to raise over $7,000! With this money we will be able to put our C side into a conference of their own on beginning this fall season. They will be traveling to Vermont nearly every weekend to compete and we look forward to cheering them on. By entering our C side into their own conference, we hope we will be able to retain more talent and increase the overall depth of the team. After this past season, we are excited for what the C side has to bring in the fall.

On another note, for those who did not hear, we suffered a major loss in funding from the University for the coming school year. This loss was due to a misdirection in the instructions our club (as well as seven other clubs) were given as well as a misunderstanding of some of our budgeted items. Thankfully, we were able to recoup much of this loss through an appeals process. The excess of our original goal of $5,000 will be put toward this gap in funding and nearly brings us back to the level of funding we need to operate as we have in prior seasons.

Thank you again for your support of the UMass Men's Rugby Club.

New Stretch Goal of $10,000

April 07, 2016

Thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising campaign!

We clearly weren't ambitious enough! We completed our campaign in what should have taken 30 days, in LESS THAN 72 HOURS and currently stand at $5,299! We owe this success to our incredible alumni, friends, fans and family. We plan to use these funds to enter our C side into a conference of their own this coming fall season. Normally C side players are not exposed to this kind of competitive gameplay and is the reason many players end up leaving the program early on in their careers. Thank you for helping us provide these talented new players with the game time they deserve.

We are extending our campaign to a goal of $10,000. Currently, we store our equipment at players houses, off campus storage and dorm rooms. We do not have a centralized location and are partnering with other teams on campus to raise funds for an equipment shed to be constructed near our field. Additionally, for those of you familiar with a scrum, we are in desperate need of a new scrum sled. Our current piece of equipment is made from pieces of foam and rotting wood and will not last another season. This piece of equipment would aid us in our practices and greatly contribute to the success of our program.

Thank you again to all of our donors who have helped us get this far. Let's keep the momentum going for the rest of the campaign!

We reached 75% in 24 hours!

April 05, 2016

Dear donors,

Thank you for your amazing support! We SMASHED our halfway mark in less than 24 hours and are now at 75% of our goal. Please help us keep this momentum moving forward and share this campaign with your friends and family.

$40

Sponsor A New Player

With this donation you ensure that one new player will be able to play on our new C side in division level play. Thank you!

$100

Help Out The Coaches

With this donation you will help us pay for coaching for the C side. Our current C side coach was a former A side head coach. We need to compensate him for his dedication to this club.

$200

Not Every Game is a Home Game

Travel is often one of our biggest costs. Luckily the A and B sides often travel together reducing the overall cost of their combined travel but the C side would play in a conference of its own and incur entirely new travel costs.

$500

Conference Fee

There are required fees to enter a new team into a league. There are referee, insurance, general administrative fees and many more. This is often the biggest barrier to entry for any team. Thank you for helping us get over this hurdle.
