Thank you for your supporting UMass TASC! With your help, we’re better able to cover the costs of yo-yo, dragon, and lion dance equipment and continue promoting awareness of Asian culture through education and performances! With these funds, we’re able to purchase club yo-yo’s, open for all to use, especially for eager new members just joining our team! The Final Stretch

March 10, 2020

Hello Givers to the UMass TASC MinuteFund,

We have 19 days left for our fundraising campaign!

Thank You for your generous contributions to our fundraising campaign. Everyone in the club is incredibly thankful for the $450 we've raised so far! Since the last update, we've implemented the new yo-yo axles into practice for these performances: TCSA Cultural Night Market, KSA Streets of Seoul, and Asian Night. We are now setting our eyes on the April 11 annual East Coast Intercollegiate Lion Dance competition now being held at MIT and we're preparing our members for the Sundia USA Chinese Yo-Yo Competition happening on April 18 in Flushing, NY. A portion of our funds will be used to prepare to buy new equipment for our lion dance team as well as pay for the entry fees for the Chinese Yo-Yo competition.

4 Week Update

February 18, 2020

Hello Givers to the UMass TASC MinuteFund,

Thank You for your generous contributions to our fundraising campaign. Everyone in the club is incredibly thankful for the $350 we've raised in only four week! With $150 of this money, I have already made our first purchase of 8 chinese yo-yo axle bearings provided by our amazing friends at Sundia USA. With these new bearings, Donald Chang and Rithany Kheam, two great members of our club, were able to switch these new bearings out of our old practice yo-yo's that have stopped working. These new fixed yo-yo's can now be used to perfect tricks before performances.

As we continue to raise money, we want to begin budgeting into buying lion dance music equipment like cymbals and a gong. On April 11, the annual East Coast Intercollegiate Lion Dance competition will be held at UMass Boston, so we hope to continue raising funds to help with transportation and we will send more information of this event in the next update!

Attached are pictures of the new bearings we have bought!
