Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official undergraduate governing body responsible for representing students to UMass Amherst administration. Student voices matter and we are committed to supporting each – and every – student. Whether it is advocating for student rights or approving, supporting and funding student activities on campus, we are your partners in success. 

This MinuteFund will assist in raising funds for the SGA. The funds will be invested in projects and initiatives that align with our core beliefs of empowering students, and in turn, allowing student leaders to better serve its members and the UMass community. 

While the SGA receives funding from the Student Activities Trust Fund (SATF), there are certain social events and community programming initiatives that cannot be funded through the SATF due to its guidelines.

As we move into 2020 and the start of a new decade, the SGA is working to further fund and support academic and social initiatives. From reducing course and textbook costs to decreasing parking costs, we orient ourselves around ensuring that a student’s education is financially efficient as possible. Your support also helps us improve university services and meet our operational needs like bringing professional development opportunities/training to senators or maintaining office resources.
