Our campaign for the Penny Remsen Design and Technology Theater Internship Fund has been a rousing success! Thanks to the support of our friends and alumni, we now have $15, 725 to put towards helping our design and technology students afford internships. That amount exceeds even our stretch goal and will make a huge difference in students’ lives!

We hope to share stories from those students on our social media in the year ahead, so keep an eye on our Facebook page.

We’ve been thanking our donors individually on Facebook throughout this campaign, and we mean every word — we are so grateful to everyone who was able to support our students with a gift! If you donated $50 or more, stay tuned for your well-deserved perks in the coming weeks.

And to all of our donors, regardless the amount: if you haven’t been by the Department in a while, consider this an invitation to come by and check out a production or an event. We have an exciting spring season planned and we’d love to see you there!

We have been so heartened by the support for the Penny Remsen Design & Technology Theater Internship Fund. 

We've gotten support from Penny's former students who are paying it forward, as well as from folks who have never met her but understand that internships — often unpaid — are vital to future careers and simultaneously hard to afford for many students.

We are $1595 shy of our $15,000 goal, and we'd love to get the rest of the way there by year's end, when our MinuteFund concludes.

Wow!

That's it, that's our update: We're not quite 72 hours into this fundraiser and we're blown past our original goal already. We are so grateful to those who have given already, and to those who have shared, liked, and encouraged us. We wouldn't be here without you!

Now, we're aiming even higher, with a stretch goal of $15,000, so that we can help even more of our students afford to take on internships. As Penny Remsen mentee and Tony-nominated designer Jane Cox says in our new video, internships are vital as young artists build their careers.
