About the Chapter
This past year, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter at UMass Amherst celebrated our 65th anniversary. This makes us the oldest student chapter at the College of Engineering.
Throughout the chapter’s history, we have made tremendous strides in expanding our influence, knowledge, and participation in design competitions. From our beginnings competing in the Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe to now including competitions such as the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute’s (EERI) National Seismic Design Competition, we have proudly represented UMass, the College, and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering on both the regional and national scale.
Our participation and placement at these competitions would not be possible without your help. We are funded solely by private support; this means every bag of concrete, every piece of steel, every seismograph sensor, and every bit of our travel costs must be raised by student participants.
Help us continue to represent UMass Amherst and the excellence of the CEE department at national competitions by supporting our MinuteFund project with a tax-deductible donation today!
