The Plant-Based Nutrition Club will be co-hosting our Dr. T Colin Campbell guest lecture event with the UMass Nutrition Department at the Annual Beal Day Lecture on March 27th.
We are working very hard to make this event free for students. This event will also be open to the general public, either for free or for a small entrance fee, depending on how much money we raise.
The Plant-Based Nutrition Club is all about education surrounding the plant-based world: nutritional benefits, sustainability, love for animals, tips on going plant-based. We hold meetings on plant-based topics, as well as events such as cooking demonstrations, nature walks, and picnics. Dr. T Colin Campbell’s expertise is directly in line with what we want to educate people about in the plant-based world.
Dr. Campbell has been dedicated to the study of human health for more than 60 years. His primary focus is on the association between diet and disease, particularly cancer.
Dr. Campbell is largely known for The China Study, which is the most comprehensive study of health and nutrition ever conducted, and is recognized by The New York Times as the “Grand Prix of epidemiology.” The China Study has sold over two million copies worldwide.
Dr. Campbell’s work includes extensive involvement in education, public policy, and laboratory research. He has actively participated in the development of national and international nutrition policy and authored over 300 research papers.
PNUT presented on the China Study last year, and many of us have long been in awe of Dr. T Colin Campbell's research and all he has accomplished for the plant-based world. It would mean the world to us if you would come to our event and help with our fundraising efforts to get him to come to UMass!
