Who Are We?
We are graduate students at the Center for Public Policy and Administration (CPPA) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. We want to connect ideas with action to make positive change in the world. Learn more about us by clicking the "Project Owners" photos above.
What Are We Doing?
We are travelling to Washington D.C. for four days in January as part of our Professional Development Seminar. We will visit federal agencies, think tanks and non-profits that advocate, develop and implement policies. Last year this included the Brookings Institution, the World Bank, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, NASA, and the New America Foundation.
Why Is This Important?
This trip will be a valuable learning and networking opportunity. By meeting with professionals across different policy areas, some of whom are UMass Alumni, we will learn about their work and career opportunities. We will gain a real-world understanding of how policy is designed and implemented, which will enhance our educational experience at CPPA.
How Can You Help?
We need financial support to cover some of our travel costs to the nation’s capital. Any amount, large or small, will help to make this trip more affordable for more students. This in turn will bring us one step closer to meeting our career goals of making positive changes in the world.
