CNS Giving Tuesday

Give a gift that gives back!

Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving back. People around the globe are following Cyber Monday with Tuesday focused on philanthropy.

On December 1, we hope you will celebrate Giving Tuesday by supporting the College of Natural Sciences. When you make a gift to CNS in honor or in memory of someone important to you, we will be happy to share your dedication online, on social media, and in emails.

Thanks to the generosity of Elizabeth M. Brackett ’80, who is a member of the CNS Advisory Board, and her husband, Dr. Thomas D. Radcliff, the first $2,500.00 in gifts to CNS on Giving Tuesday will be matched, dollar for dollar. Don’t delay: double the impact of your gift—and your dedication!

Please join us on Giving Tuesday. Make a difference for CNS students and celebrate the significant people in your life.

What you will be supporting

Click on our “Give Now” button and your contribution will support the CNS Dean’s Opportunity Fund. This fund is used for student, faculty, and programming needs across the college. Examples of what the fund has helped to do include:

  • Supplementing scholarships to increase both the number available to students and the amounts awarded
  • Helping grow student initiatives, such as the Student Farming Enterprise.
  • Supporting student training and events such as the Summer Institute in Leadership and Sustainability and the Junior Fellows Symposium.
  • Providing faculty with on-site professional conferences and workshops, such as the New England Mechanics Physics Workshop.
  • Bringing high school students to campus for events such as the Massachusetts Envirothon competition and the STEM Starter Academy visit to encourage their transition to college.
  • Paying for transportation and lodging costs for student teams and clubs traveling to competitions
  • Helping departments purchase needed equipment.

Choose what you want to support in CNS. Go to umass.edu/give and select the maroon option for multiple designations. Scroll down to the College of Natural Sciences and select your department, program, or fund.
