UMass Powerlifting to Collegiate Nationals

Last semester was the first semester that we had a powerlifting club running at Umass Amherst. As a new group, we are struggling to meet funding requirements in order to keep the club functioning. Part of helping our group flourish includes participating in powerlifting competitions, and collegiate nationals is the perfect place to meet fellow collegiate athletes and compete in a lively atmosphere where we can really make a name for our school. Last year we were able to attend collegiate nationals because it was held in Providence, Rhode Island, only a two hour drive from Amherst. This year, it will be held in San Antonio, Texas, and we have several competitive athletes who have been waiting and training for an opportunity like this. Any donation is a step forward towards enabling us to travel to San Antonio to compete. Our fees include travel, competition fee, and other accommodations. Nationals is being held in early April, but we need to register as a team by February 13th so getting funds as quickly as possible is crucial as this is time sensitive.
